May 25, 2022 · Location: Bangor, Maine. To help spread the word about two upcoming NRBQ shows in Maine, I spoke with guitarist Scott Ligon and bassist Casey McDonough for a story scheduled to appear today today in The Maine Edge, an arts & entertainment weekly.
During September 2012, bassist Donnelly was replaced by Scott Ligon's friend Casey McDonough. (As of 2021, Ligon and McDonough are also members of the Flat Five, based in Chicago.)
In between rehearsals and recording, I was able to talk a bit with Casey McDonough, who also serves as NRBQ’s bassist, about the Flat Five’s origins, some of their side projects, and what they have in store for the coming months. REBEAT: How did the Flat Five come about?
