The Hon Joseph Yam Chi-Kwong is a Non-Official Member of the Executive Council of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He is also Distinguished Research Fellow of the Lau Chor Tak Institute of Global Economics and Finance at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Professor Joseph Yam was the first Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, an organization that he was instrumental in establishing in 1993, and headed it for sixteen and a half years. After retiring from that post in September 2009, Professor Yam has taken up a number of appointments.
