Don L. Scott, Jr. (born March 5, 1965) is an American lawyer and politician. A Democrat, he is a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 80th district. He was minority leader of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2022 to 2024.
Don Scott is a veteran, attorney, and community leader who represents Virginia's 88th District in the House of Delegates. He is also the Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates and a champion for criminal justice reform, economic development, healthcare, education, and reproductive rights.
In 2019, Don was elected to represent the people of Portsmouth as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. In 2022, Don was elected by members of his caucus to serve as House Democratic Leader, and in 2024 became the first Black Speaker of the House of Delegates in Virginia’s history.
