Carl Diem (24 June 1882 – 17 December 1962) was a German sports administrator, and as Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the Berlin Olympic Games, the chief organizer of the 1936 Olympic Summer Games.
Carl Diem war ein deutscher Sportfunktionär, -wissenschaftler und Publizist. Er war, anlässlich der Olympischen Sommerspiele 1936, Hauptinitiator der Durchführung von Fackelläufen vor Beginn Olympischer Spiele und gab mit anderen den Anstoß zur Gründung der ersten Sporthochschule der Welt in Berlin.
