Cheri Lynn Honkala (/ ˈ ʃ ɛ r i ˈ h ɒ ŋ k ə l ə /; born January 12, 1963) is an American anti-poverty advocate, co-founder of the Kensington Welfare Rights Union (KWRU) and co-founder and National Coordinator of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign, also called the Poor People’s Army.
Cheri Honkala is a co-founder of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign and a former Green Party candidate for Vice President and Sheriff of Philadelphia. She has been arrested over 200 times for protesting against evictions, homelessness and poverty, and has received numerous awards and recognition for her work.

Cheri Honkala has been organizing in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, one of the US’s most devastated, post-industrial communities, for over 30 years. As of the 2010 census, Kensington was 38.9 percent Hispanic of any race, 37.4 percent non-Hispanic white, 14.8 percent non-Hispanic Black, 6.2 percent Asian, and 2.7 percent all other.
