Adam Czerniaków (30 November 1880 – 23 July 1942) was a Polish engineer and senator who was head of the Warsaw Ghetto Jewish Council during World War II. He committed suicide on 23 July 1942 by swallowing a cyanide pill, a day after the commencement of mass extermination of Jews known as the Grossaktion Warsaw .
Czerniakow acquired considerable experience as a communal leader and was known for organizing the Jewish artisans, who constituted some 40% of all Polish Jewry. From 1927 to 1934, he served as a member of the Warsaw Municipal Council and, in, 1931 he was elected to the Polish Senate.

Adam Czerniaków (30 November 1880 – 23 July 1942) was a Polish-Jewish engineer. Czerniaków served as head of the Jewish Council in Warsaw from 4 October 1939 until he took his own life on 23 July 1942, after obtaining orders from the Nazis to supply lists of Jews for mass transports to the east.
