From 10 - 14 March, a group of intrepid students from Western Heights High School embarked on a remarkable journey to Great Barrier Island. Flying 30 minutes off the New Zealand mainland in two teeny tiny 'Great Barrier Air' planes, they carried their 12+ kg packs and all supplies for a challenging three day hike spanning over 30 km.
This year Western Heights High School has students learning with different providers across the Bay of Plenty, from Toi Ohomai, Hair to Train and ETCO here in Rotorua; to YooBee Colleges, and EmployNZ in Tauranga.
Beppu Shosei is our sister school and has a long-standing relationship with Western Heights High School. This year marks their 10 year Jubilee, and Heights will be showcasing our kapa haka talents with 18 students embarking on the trip of a lifetime.
