At Elstree, our aim is two-fold. Firstly we wish to find out how a child is intelligent rather than how intelligent a child is. This broad and holistic approach fits into our ethos that we wish to find, nurture and develop talent and prepare children for senior school education and life beyond.
It’s official. Elstree is a co-educational Berkshire school. The move to becoming fully co-educational this September has been a resounding success, with a total of 31 girls in the whole school, including 14 in the Prep.

Elstree School is an English preparatory school for children aged 3–13 at Woolhampton House in Woolhampton, near Newbury in the English county of Berkshire. The school is co-educational.
Set in 150 acres of stunning parkland in rural West Berkshire, Elstree welcomes boys and girls aged 3-13 years. From Year 4 onwards, pupils can choose to flexi or weekly board. At Elstree, we are academically ambitious and provide a first class all-round education.
For the Year 8 leavers, today is our last Elstree Sports Day. Looking back on our time at school here, there have been many noteworthy events. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrated 70 years on the Throne in 2022 but very sadly died before the year was out. She was succeeded by His Majesty King Charles III.
