Samson & Gert is a Flemish children's television series produced by Eline van Noppen, centered on the talking dog Samson and his owner Gert. In its entire run, the show was originally aired on TV1 from Christmas Day 1989 until 1 December 1997, where it moved to Ketnet and continues airing all of its episodes to this day.
Samson en Gert is a long-running TV show about a man and his talking dog, who have many funny adventures with their friends in a fictional village. The show features songs, jokes, references and characters that appeal to children and adults.

The ministerial delegate announces a last-minute visit from the minister, first to Samson and Gert, then to town-hall. Hearing the mayor's housekeeper-cook Marie will be unavailable, town clerk Van Leemhuyzen, who must play a soccer match, asks Gert to cook for the high guest.
The friends try out Samson's idea to switch jobs for a day, but that means Yolanda meets novice, utterly bumbling town secretary Gert, shopkeeper Van Leemhuyzen, hairdresser Octaaf and pancake baker, or actually eater, Alberto, which chases her straight back to Holland.
Samson is a main title character in Samson and Gert, originally portrayed by Danny Verbiest and later by Peter Thyssen and Dirk Bosschaert. He is Gert 's talking dog. With a cheerful and caring personality along with a wild side, he is fun-loving and young at heart.
