Eddie Roberts, an assistant sociology professor at Cranepool University, is vying for tenure with triple-threat colleague Chiquita Zamora. His personal life is complicated by wife Delores, whose primary ambition in life is to be the world's first female Major League Baseball player.
Delores and Chrissy make a decision to give things a second chance and return home to their life with Eddie. At the same time, the Roberts household is suddenly alive with activity as Eddie's friend Turner and Delores' friend Gertrude become new borders in the home.
