Rhodes University ( Afrikaans: Rhodes Universiteit) is a public research university located in Makhanda (Grahamstown) in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. [3] It is one of four universities in the province.

To qualify for degree studies at Rhodes University, learners must pass: English language at an achievement rating of 4 (50 - 59%) or above. At least four of the seven subjects must be from the list of recommended subject list set out below and students must have obtained an achievement rating of 4 (50 - 59%) or above.
The university has six main faculties including commerce, education, humanities, law, pharmacy and science. Around 30 per cent of the student body is postgraduate and 20 per cent are international students from 54 countries across the world.
