Bad Godesberg is located along the hills and cliffs of the west bank of the Rhine river, in west central Germany. Godesberg is also the name of the steep hill, of volcanic origin, on the top of which are the ruins of the Godesburg, a castle destroyed in 1583 during the Cologne War .

Part of greater Bonn, Bad Godesberg is one of the Rhine's oldest spa towns. It's located just opposite the legendary Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains), with a view of Drachenfels (Dragon's Rock), where, according to legend, Siegfried slew the dragon.
It’s a lovely historical spa park with very very beautiful old trees. There’s no more mineral water for drinking and the place looks sometimes really dirty, especially the lake. One can take a walk there in the morning, but it’s definitely not recommended to be visited in the evening…. Read more.
