Apr 24, 2024 · Clarifying the Difference between Research-Based and Evidence-Based. My current working definition of research-based instruction has come to mean those practices/programs that are based on well-supported and documented theories of learning.
Evidence-Informed (or Research-Based) Practices are practices that were developed based on the best research available in the field. This means that users can feel confident that the strategies and activities included in the program or practice have a strong scientific basis for their use.

The Every Student Succeeds Act is a law intended to provide all students—including those considered disadvantaged based on family income, minority status or disability—with an equal opportunity to succeed in school. It holds schools and educators accountable for how students learn, grow and achieve in the classroom. The law allows states to determine their educational plans within a government-defined framework.
