The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Singapore (GRA) is conferred powers under the Gambling Regulatory Authority Act 2022, Gambling Control Act 2022 and Casino Control Act 2006. GRA also has powers to make regulations for regulating the gambling industry.
The Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore (CRA) was a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of Singapore. It was formed on 2 April 2008 to regulate the management and operation of the casinos in Singapore.
The passing of the Casino Control Bill on 14 February 2006 marked the first milestone in GRA’s history as it paved the way for the establishment of the Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA), which was later reconstituted to become GRA in 2022.
