Meridian Junior College (MJC) was established in 2003 after DPM Teo Chee Hean, the then-Education Minister, mooted the idea of building a new junior college in Pasir Ris. “Meridian” refers to a line in astronomy which measures the highest point a star reaches as it journeys across the night sky.
TMJC is built upon the foundations of Tampines Junior College and Meridian Junior College. With the rich heritage and culture of two colleges coming together, TMJC is thus able to offer a wider range of educational experiences and enrichment programmes for students to realise his/her potential.

Tampines Meridian Junior College was established in 2019 from the merger of Tampines Junior College and Meridian Junior College. It is located on the former grounds of MJC. The college offers two Ministry of Education special programmes: Drama Elective Programme and Malay Language Elective Programme.

Dec 14, 2022 · Tampines Meridian Junior College ranks 12th place on the list of best JCs in Singapore. Four students aced the A-Level exams, while approximately 33% scored 80-90. They have a mean rank point of 73.9. Its cut-off points for the Arts and Science stream is 13 as of 2022.
The subjects offered at TMJC can be found in Table 1, which also shows the level (H1 or H2) that the subject can be taken at. All subject combinations offered by the College are based on the guidelines from the Ministry of Education.
In 2019, Yishun Junior College and Innova Junior College merged to form Yishun Innova Junior College (YIJC), which combines the best programmes from both colleges.
