  1. My UWC Atlantic education has been extremely transformational for me as a person. If I look back 30 years ago when I was here, I was prejudiced in all sorts of ways. My lived experience here has helped me shed most of them.

  2. On 4-5 March, the college played host to 24 Hour Race Wales, an important awareness campaign to end human trafficking and modern slavery around the world. The race was completely student led, with 190 students running and 80 others involved as volunteers and marshalls, all of whom worked tirelessly throughout the day and night.

  3. It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Stephen Cox (AC ‘65) and former Chair of the UWC Atlantic Board at the age of 77 after a long illness. He was an early adopter to the UWC movement and in the second year of students to graduate from the College.

So in this anniversary year - our 60th - our work is to once more, in the pioneering spirit that started this college and the UWC movement, push the frontier of mission-driven and action-oriented education. The engine room for this work at the college will be the new Center for Systems Transformation.

  5. It has been a pleasure to get to know him, and we were delighted to hear his debut as a performer at UWC Atlantic’s 60th anniversary event on 1st October. On that note, we spent most of the start of term preparing for a variety of performances on the day.

  6. UWC Atlantic hosted a series of workshops in October, delivered by a trio of international community organisers and activists from Venezuela, India, Scotland and Canada. The three-part series was organised by Lighthouse, our on-campus entrepreneurial hub.

  7. The Princess Royal met the on-duty watchkeepers and students on the NCI Cadets CAS programme at the college, and received a comprehensive briefing on the programme and watchkeeping life at St. Donat’s seafront.

  8. We were thrilled to welcome a wonderful group of alumni from UWC Atlantic and UWC South East Asia to the college for our Alumni Careers Day in February! They generously shared insights into their post-UWC journeys and professional paths in fields such as business, education, environment, film, health, human rights, law, and STEM.
