The Introductory Sommelier Course and Examination, offered in-person and online, introduces students to the world of wine, the Court of Master Sommeliers Tasting Method, the Court of Master Sommeliers Service Standards, and is taught exclusively by Master Sommeliers.
The Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas, offers a comprehensive four-level education and examination program. The journey begins with the Introductory Sommelier Course and Examination, a foundational step for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the world of wine and beverage.
History of the Court of Master Sommeliers. It started in 1363 with the Twelve Great City of London Livery Companies. The companies were guilds where members took care of each other before government support programs existed and were organisations with similar goals.
