Update: At the time of this edit, Gnome Chompski has already been launched into space. However, I've opened the game but it shows that the achievement is still locked. Gnome Alone achievement: How do you get this achievement?
Nov 20, 2020 · The new achievement is called Gnome Alone, and the text is "If you are reading this achievement, Gabe Newell has successfully launched Gnome Chompski into space." It is of course yet to activate. You can check Rocket Lab's website for updates on when the gnome will launch, and at the time of writing it's saying blast-off will be "no earlier than November 20."
that achievement is to commemorate a day when Gabe Newell launched a real-life gnome statue into a real-life space (like you do in this game), just launch the game and you will immediately obtain it. play further and launch in-game gnome statue into the space to obtain "Little Rocket Man" achievement.

And because thats a one time event and won't happen again everyone gets it when they start he game. #8.

The gnome appears in the second chapter of dark carnival, get a high enough score at the shooting range and you will get the gnome, after that just take it through the rest of Dark carnival and bring it with you into the rescue helicopter. make sure your holding it when in the helicopter. Wrong achievement bruh!
Feb 14, 2021 · It's NOT the old gnome achievement. The old gnome achievement, in which you have to carry the gnome to the rocket ingame, is Little Rocket Man. You still have to do it to earn the achievement. You can read the description of these 2 achievements in steam. Theres two gnome achievements.
Nov 23, 2020 · Gnome Alone should have AUTO popped for you upon launching the game. That is NOT the "Gnome Vault of my own" ach. The Gnome Alone achievement is/was tied to the launch of an IRL version of the Gnome launched into space the other day. That same Achievement, Gnome ALone, was added to HL2 ep2 and L4D2.
