Mar 22, 2024 · Uninstall Opera (but do not choose to delete your data when uninstalling) and delete the install folder aftewards. The Opera install folder should be in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Programs" or "C:\Program Files" depending on how you have Opera installed. If uninstalling gives you the same error, just delete the install folder.
Oct 19, 2022 · In the left-hand pane, left-click "Task Scheduler Library". A list of tasks will show up in the pane in the middle. Left-click the "Name" column header to sort the list by name. In that middle pane, for each Opera scheduled update task you see, right-click it and disable it. Repeat when you update Opera.

If your Windows user account is signed into your Microsoft account and your account is part of a Microsoft Family, Opera GX might not have permission to run (and might only show the animation really quickly and close).
