Zoo South Station Entrance closes at 4:00pm, please enter through the Main Entrance. Education Center and Shuttle Train are both free starting from 4:30pm.
The History of the Taipei Zoo. The history of the Taipei Zoo can be traced back over 90 years. In 1914, when Taiwan was still under Japanese sovereignty, a Japanese man surnamed Oe established a private zoological garden in Yuan-shan in the northern suburbs of Taipei City.
The Taipei Zoo has extended its nighttime opening period during the summer for 9 Saturdays starting from July 6th, inviting you to join the “Night FUN Adventure at the Zoo!”. When the temperature cools at night, it is the best time to visit the zoo and look for animals!
