When telling a child "Gentle!", for example to be gentle with his little brother, I'm not convinced of "suave" or any of the synonyms listed. In fact, many Mexican friends I know use "despacito" when instructing their children to be gentle.

It signifies a warning that there's a nastier reminder afterwards, or a fine or a punishment. 'Kindly' is normally used by a superior to an inferior e.g. a boss to his/her secretary: Kindly draft a letter to Mr X.
