Jan 24, 2022 · I am all for suspension of disbelief but the more I think about it, the more I realise that the White Christmas episode is more like a soap opera. The plot doesn't make that much a sense. The best hour long episode I have seen is Hated in the Nation. Such an intense noir episode!
Feb 15, 2018 · I would say that Black Mirror is staying in tune with tradition on morality stories--horrifying punishments for what seem like lesser crimes is exactly what such stories are about--scaring you on even minor transgressions. This does not count against the show--in fact I think that resonance with classic tales is a point in its favor.

Nov 23, 2020 · Weren't they in a simulation though. In my opinion one of the best episodes. It is so dark and hard hitting while still having a great point to get across. The epitome of everything the show is known for. this was the first episode i ever watched and really set the tone for the show, it’s still my favourite to date.
Matt Trent’s punishment was that bad because he witnessed the death of one of his clients and never spoke up about it. White Christmas was truly horrifying as for me, it’s easier to imagine being trapped forever with full knowledge that you are trapped, compared with living each day as a fresh new nightmare.

Or I guess being stuck in a kitchen for ~3-4 million years where you literally can't sleep listening to a Christmas song on loop with a dead girl that you are responsible for lies out the window. Fuck.
