  2. The IOP provides avenues for practical experience and encourages students to examine critically and think creatively about politics and public issues. The Institute of Politics (IOP) at the Harvard Kennedy School was established in 1966 as a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy.

For more than 50 years, the Institute of Politics Resident Fellows Program has provided Harvard students with the opportunity to learn from prominent public servants, engage in civil discourse, and acquire a more holistic and pragmatic view of our political world.

  4. The Institute of Politics (IOP) is an institute of Harvard Kennedy School at Harvard University that was created to serve as a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy and to inspire Harvard undergraduates to consider careers in politics and public service.

  5. Help a new friend become a U.S. citizen. Join one of fifteen student programs at the Institute of Politics. Harvard undergraduates can get involved with the IOP by applying to any student programs that interest you at the beginning of each semester through the IOP Common Application.
