During the early 1950s, the State of California constructed the Hollywood Freeway through the northeast corner of Hollywood. The Capitol Records Building on Vine Street, just north of Hollywood Boulevard, was built in 1956.

- Madame Tussauds Hollywood. Attractions. Arcades and amusements. Hollywood. There are easier ways to meet your favorite stars than stalking their homes, or trying to sneak your way into the VIP areas at expensive clubs.
- Chinese Theatre. Movie theaters. Multiplex. Hollywood. The forecourt of this iconic movie theater, filled with foot and hand prints of Hollywood icons, is kind of a tourist-choked hot mess.
- The Hollywood Sign. Attractions. Sightseeing. Hollywood. Originally created in 1923, the then “Hollywoodland” sign was supposed to be up for only a year and a half, yet here it is a century later.

- Walk of Fame. The famous Hollywood Walk of Fame runs along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street. Here, Hollywood's most recognized faces and names are represented by bronze-rimmed stars dedicated and laid in the sidewalk.
- Hollywood Sign. The famous hillside Hollywood sign is perhaps the most iconic site in California. The original sign was built in the 1920s to advertise a new residential development named Hollywoodland.
- Universal Studios Hollywood. Universal Studios Hollywood is one of Hollywood's biggest family tourist attractions. The site is divided into several areas, including a theme park, working studio, and the Universal City Walk, an area of restaurants and shops.
- La Brea Tar Pits and Museum. Tens of thousands of years ago, sticky tar (natural asphalt) created pools in the ground, which trapped a variety of large and small animals.
Tinseltown, where starlets are discovered on every street corner (or at least we like to think they are), and the tinted windows of that stretch limo might be hiding a Cruise, Hanks, or Aniston.
There are so many things to do in Hollywood, California! You can see the footprints of the stars at the TCL Chinese Theatre, gaze down at the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, do some serious shopping at Hollywood & Highland, or visit the famous Hollywood Wax Museum.
