[4] Located along the Auglaize River, the city is about 56 miles (90 km) north of Dayton and 83 miles (134 km) south of Toledo. The population was 9,957 at the 2020 census.

It’s a town of about 10,000 people. Wapakoneta is known for being the hometown of Neil Armstrong, the first human to walk on the moon.
