  1. He tried taking Deborah's daughter when she was little, so Deb and her neighbor killed him. As Deb got older, she ran low on money, so her now adult daughter, agreed to the documentary about her mom's 'battle with dementia' in exchange for money (I think to keep the house her mom loved so much).

  2. Deborah Logan was fantastic, absolutely chilling, but the final act left a bit to be desired. Got a little too goofy, when it really didn't need to be. That said, the imagery of that scene has stayed with me ever since, so I wouldn't say it was ineffective.

  3. Feb 11, 2023 · The Taking of Deborah Logan has one of THE greatest moments in horror history. About two thirds of the way through the film, one of the main characters just ups and fucking leaves in his van and never ever returns again in the film, he just nopes the hell out of the weird situation

  4. The Taking of Deborah Logan is probably my favorite movie from the Found Footage genre. In my opinion it does everything right to keep the flow of the movie fun, interesting and spooky. You have a documentary style to introduce the key players When things eventually do begin to get supernatural, doubting them is actually believable

  5. Feb 12, 2022 · In a world where the majority of found footage films rely on invisible forces moving people and objects, the Taking of Deborah Logan peaked with an awesome, shocking and badass image. Very well executed.

  6. Feb 20, 2017 · Creep is psychological but not in the arthouse way. It's not as heavy as The Taking of Deborah Logan by any measure. The cover image netflix uses does NOT do it justice, that's for sure, but it's one of my favorite found footage films. Blair Witch 2 got really bad ratings so you should proceed with caution.

  7. Oct 28, 2014 · Just watched The Taking of Deborah Logan last night and was very surprised at how good it was. Very creepy scenes and set-ups. Even though the genre is overplayed I think they had a good idea with mixing Alzheimer's with possession and the viewer having to figure out which was coming through in Deborah's actions. Pros: Jill Larson as Deborah Logan

  8. Jan 21, 2016 · Definitely worth a watch. One of the better found footage entries of recent years, which I think stands alongside films like The Babadook, It Follows, Starry Eyes etc. in that it creates horror from situations that most people have experienced first or second hand in their life (e.g. depression/isolation (The Babadook), sex negativity (It Follows) or desperation to succeed (Starry Eyes).

  10. Feb 4, 2024 · The Taking of Deborah Logan was just the opposite. After some character building, from a point about 15 minutes in until the chilling end, it's delivers nonstop on multiple fronts: at it's heart, its a possession film. watching the old woman fall further and further under control means she's doing more and more disturbing, violent and impossible things.
