Kafke. •. Google translate struggles with translating between languages that are very different from one another, and languages that have a lot of ambiguity. Which is why English<->Japanese translation is so terrible. But translations like English<->Spanish and Chinese<->Japanese should be a lot better.

Jul 30, 2023 · In my opinion ChatGPT 3.5 does a good enough job of translating that there's no need to pay for 4 unless you really need that level of detail. if you want to do this, use 33b and 65b base llama models. You don't want finetuned.

Aug 3, 2021 · Google Translate, like every other machine translator, does not know any languages. It has databases of existing translations and uses those along with algorithms to guess the translations for novel sentences. It's great for getting the gist of something not-that-important in a language you don't know.
