Glad Tidings Church was pioneered by a Finnish missionary couple, the Kossilas. In 1957, being led by God to start a church work in the Upper Serangoon/Tampines area, this new work soon grew as neighbouring estates started to spring up due to the rapid developing of the suburban areas in Singapore.

Challenged by God through two different prophecies, Glad Tidings East was established as a branch church of Glad Tidings Church. The Inauguration Service of Glad Tidings East was held at 209, Loyang Rise on 12 March 2000.
The Church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe ‘the Church’ is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.
