Jul 4, 2021 · Fairfield Methodist Church celebrated its 73rd anniversary with a live worship service and a livestream in January 2021. The church also shared its vision, mission and outreach ministries to bless the community in Chinatown and beyond.

The site of Fairfield Methodist Church was formerly Metropole, otherwise known as Jing Hwa Cinema. It was one of Chinatown's three famous cinemas, the others being Oriental and Majestic. Designed in the Modernist style by local architect Wong Foo Nam, the building was completed in 1958.
