The Anne Frank House (Dutch: Anne Frank Huis) is a writer's house and biographical museum dedicated to Jewish wartime diarist Anne Frank. The building is located on a canal called the Prinsengracht, close to the Westerkerk, in central Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
The rooms in the Anne Frank House, although no longer containing any furniture, still exude the atmosphere of the period in hiding. Quotes from the diary, photos, film footage and original objects of the people in hiding and the helpers illustrate the events that took place here.
The Anne Frank House develops exhibitions, educational programmes, and other products based on Anne Frank’s life story. We want to make young people aware of the dangers of antisemitism, racism, and discrimination, and the importance of freedom, equal rights, and democracy.

The Van Pels family and Fritz Pfeffer lived there with them. The doorway to the hidden room was concealed behind a moveable bookcase that was constructed for this purpose.
