"Something Walker This Way Comes" is the tenth episode of the first season of Almost Paradise, serving as the season finale. The episode first aired on June 1, 2020, on WGN America (now NewsNation).
Alex Walker is struggling to hang up a large plastic fish in his gift shop. He is surprised by a knock on his door and to his surprise he is greeted by his daughter, Evelyn Walker. Evelyn has joined the Peace Corps and has stopped by to visit Alex while on her way to her assignment in Indonesia. Alex tries to apologize for not visiting or calling more often, but Evelyn refuses to hear any of it. She gets mad at Alex, saying she does not want the money he has been sending her over the years because it cannot make up for how often he was away during her childhood. This outburst causes immense stress to Alex, triggering his heart condition and causing him to collapse.
At the hospital, Evelyn waits in the waiting area for news about Alex. A nurse tells her she can go see him, but she declines. Chief Ike Ocampo and Detectives Kai Mendoza and Ernesto Alamares all rush in to visit Alex. Seeing this, Evelyn changes her mind and goes in as well. However, the scene does not cut away to the hospital room right away and stays on the waiting area long enough to show Alex's former DEA partner Todd Carpenter, who had betrayed him, poking around the waiting room.
In the hospital room, Alex has somewhat regained consciousness and is talking with those who have come to visit him. Cory Santos and Rita Cordero from the hotel also stop by to give Alex a gift basket and to wish him well. Everyone eventually has to get back to work, leaving Kai and Evelyn with Alex. Evelyn talks about her childhood and how Alex was always making her take self-defense classes and teaching her survival skills.
Later on, Chief Ike Ocampo and multiple other officers arrest Lawrence Usato, who they believe is Numbers, the accountant and bookkeeper for crime lord Francisco Aguero. Ocampo is accompanied by DEA agent Walton Zivic, who also wants information on Aguero. They take Usato back to the police station for questioning.
Back at the hospital, Evelyn is keeping a semi-conscious Alex company when she hears a voice from the other side of the curtain. To her surprise she sees another patient, Diego, who appears to be recovering from a broken leg. Diego tells Evelyn he was in a car accident while on his way to the bank and that if he does not pay back the bank by the end of the day he will lose everything. Evelyn offers to take the cash to the bank for him and he tells her where to go.
Kai returns to the hospital and asks Alex where Evelyn went. Alex tells her Evelyn is running an errand for the patient in the other bed. Kai, confused, tells Alex there is no patient in the other bed, and they pull the curtain to see Diego is gone. Kai asks Alex where she went specifically and Alex gives the address Diego gave Evelyn. Kai says there are no banks in that part of town due to the rampant crime in that area and they both realize this was a trap. Alex rips off the medical equipment and goes with Kai to find Evelyn.
