To avoid inconvenience at the airport during departure, exempted balik-manggagawas are still required to get an exemption number from BM Online. This allows the POEA to validate if the OFW is exempted from getting an OEC.
If you are a Balik-Manggagawa (BM) worker and you meet the qualification for OEC exemption, then you can simply get an OEC exemption via the POEA Online Processing System for Balik-Manggagawa (POPS-BaM) instead of the old Balik-Manggagawa Online System (which was discontinued since June 2021).
Only Balik Manggagawa (BM) or OFWs returning to the same employer and job site with previous records in the POEA/DMW database are eligible for the OEC exemption. Returning workers have the opportunity to acquire their OEC online through POPS-BAM and may be exempt from paying the OEC processing fees.
