Chengara Veetil Devan Nair BBM (5 August 1923 – 6 December 2005), also known as C. V. Devan Nair, better known as Devan Nair, was a Singaporean politician and union leader who served as the third president of Singapore from 1981 until his resignation in 1985.

Fifty-eight-year-old C. V. Devan Nair was elected by parliament as Singapore's third president on 23 October 1981. He took office the following day. Prior to becoming president, Nair was the first secretary-general of the Singapore National Trades Union Congress, an organisation that he had helped establish in 1961.

Mr C V Devan Nair was elected to be the third President of the Republic of Singapore by the Parliament on October 23, 1981. Before this, he led the trade union and is able to form them into a well-knitted and forward looking force with dedication towards welfare of labour under the principle of joint labour.
He was the third President of Singapore between 1981 and 1985. On 28 March 1985, Nair resigned for unknown reasons. Nair died on 6 December 2005 at his home in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada from problems caused by dementia, aged 82.
