The International Criminal Police Organization – INTERPOL (abbreviated as ICPO–INTERPOL), commonly known as Interpol (UK: / ˈ ɪ n t ər p ɒ l / IN-tər-pol, US: /-p oʊ l /-pohl; stylised in allcaps), is an international organization that facilitates worldwide police cooperation and crime control.
Our full name is the International Criminal Police Organization and we are an inter-governmental organization. We have 196 member countries, and we help police in all of them to work together to make the world a safer place.

INTERPOL has 196 member countries, making us the world's largest police organization. They work together and with the General Secretariat to share data related to police investigations. Each country hosts an INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), which links national police with our global network.

We provide police with the knowledge, skills, and sustainable tools needed to meet today’s challenges. We offer investigative support, such as forensics and assistance in locating fugitives around the world, as well as coordination support for on-the-ground operations.
The Executive Committee is the governing body in charge of supervising the execution of the General Assembly’s decisions and the administration and work of the General Secretariat. It meets three times a year.
Although we are widely known as INTERPOL, our formal name is The International Criminal Police Organization-INTERPOL. It was created by the adoption of our Constitution on 13 June 1956 at the 25th General Assembly in Vienna.
