Fenghuang and Zhangjiajie are just 230 kilometers (140 miles) apart and are easy to get in between. We recommend a private transfer, as a car takes just under 3½ hours and is much more convenient. You can also get from Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang by either taking a bus or a combination of train and bus.
There are approximately 210 kilometers (130 miles) between Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang. The best way to travel between is to take the bullet train, taking about one hour and CNY 75 - 93 if you leave from or arrive in downtown Zhangjiajie. Zhangjiajie - Fenghuang long-distance buses also serve.

For independent travelers, the best way to travel from Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang is by taking a direct bus. There are several buses to Fenghuang daily, from Zhangjiajie downtown to Wulingyuan, where Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is located. The coach trip takes about 4 hours.
