The saving and transitional provisions in ROC 2021 provide, among others, for the ROC 2014 to continue to apply to civil proceedings, including appeals, filed before 1 April 2022.

The new Rules of Court have been in the making for some time and were previously slated to come into operation by end 2021. On 1 December 2021, the new Rules of Court (ROC 2021) were gazetted and were announced to take effect from 1 April 2022.The ROC 2021 will largely apply to all civil proceedings commenced on or after 1 April 2022.

Aug 15, 2022 · General Overview. The revised Rules of Court have been in the works for a while and were supposed to go into effect by the end of 2021. The new Rules of Court (ROC 2021) were gazetted on December 1, 2021, and were set to take effect on April 1, 2022.
