All Saints' Church, Brixworth, now the parish church of Brixworth, Northamptonshire, England, is a leading example of early Anglo-Saxon architecture. It is the largest English church that remains substantially as it was in the Anglo-Saxon era.
A large village rather than a town, Brixworth is however the most interesting and substantial settlement to the north of Northampton. It is also one of the oldest, boasting one of the most outstanding buildings to have survived Anglo-Saxon period in Europe – the parish church of All Saints (which is separately treated under “Churches“).
The village of Brixworth is very small but well worth an hour of your time. Parking is available on the road and in the church car park. Visited 5th October 2022.
