Of all the locations in Barovia, Death House is really the only one that fits that bill - everything else is too big and complicated. The adventure assumes that the players are level 14. According to my calculations using CR2.0, the adventure is reasonably tuned to that difficulty, largely because it's got a lot of encounters that will slowly, but surely chip away at their resources and HP.

Aug 2, 2021 · It honestly manages to make death house more scary while being less deadly. If you have players that are not new to 5e, consider having them start with minimal or no weapons and armor. Stuff like the crossbows, longsword/shield, leather armor, and spellbook are suddenly a lot more valuable.

I ended up remaking the maps to 4K HD for online games and A4 printouts, which have squares the correct size for miniatures, for those in person games. I always hated having to try and rescale the maps for miniatures and having the letters and numbers on the map ...
May 26, 2021 · Roll20 is pretty easy to work with. Just save the map images and fire up Roll20, then create a new map page. Add the grid dims (For this map the house is 20x20 and the basement is 22x42) and Roll20 should auto apply the grid for you based on those dims you entered. I know you did an updated version of this map.
