Encino Man (1992) is my guilty pleasure. This film is absolutely bonkers. I’m not going to spoil the plot, but it’s one you definitely can’t think too hard about. Sean Astin and Pauly Shore both have great chemistry, and the film’s many sequences are so much fun to watch. It’s such a feel-good, cliche film, but I absolutely adore it.

Hence "California Man" would help a Spaniard understand that the movie is about a man in California more than "Oak Man" would make them understand that it is about a man in a specific city near LA in California.

Encino Man encapsulates everything great about a early 90s teen comedy. You have Pauly Short with the iconic 90s fashion, speaking his own language as he does in his movies. Brendan Fraser having the time of his life in an early role. Sean Astin constantly whining throughout the movie, trying to become popular and noticed by his high school crush.

The military structure (at the time) allows good men like Fick, and others, to make decisions that benefit his men and keeps them safe. Because GySgt Ray is number 2 to Encino man, and Encino man out ranks Lt. Fick. Thus, when the GySgt said something it is to be asumed that it is what Encino man wants. In the military your billet(job) is more important than your rank.
