Frobisher Bay is an inlet of the Davis Strait in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, Canada. It is located in the southeastern corner of Baffin Island . Its length is about 230 km (140 mi) and its width varies from about 40 km (25 mi) at its outlet into the Davis Strait to roughly 20 km (12 mi) towards its inner end.
It is the territory's largest community and its only city. It was known as Frobisher Bay from 1942 to 1987, after the large bay on the coast on which the city is situated. The northernmost city in Canada, its traditional Inuktitut name was restored in 1987.
Iqaluit – Inuktitut for "place of many fish" – is located near the mouth of the Sylvia Grinnell River, which empties into Frobisher Bay. Between 1955 and 1987, the settlement of Iqaluit was known as Frobisher Bay. Martin Frobisher was an Englishman who sought the Northwest Passage.

The configuration of the bay has a funnelling effect, so that the harbour of the city of IQALUIT, Nunavut, at the bay's head experiences a twice-daily tidal range of 7-11 m.
