The problem happens on virtually all the platform including Skype, Online meeting platforms (e.g. Zoom, GoTomeeting, etc). I started experiencing this problem after upgrading to Windows 10.

Aug 15, 2023 · It seems like the person hears me initially with the very first greeting, but then when I try to speak again, the person thinks there might be an issue with the connection and asks if I can hear them over and over until I switch to speakerphone to prevent losing the call entirely (people will give up after a while).

No other phrase comes to mind; this is a simple and clear way of saying exactly what you mean, and it is what I would say if I were dealing with a finicky phone connection.
