Even though look (=expression) is a countable noun, and you can make it plural when you modify it, as in dirty looks, or looks that he gave you, people will understand the plural looks by itself to mean 'appearance'. You have just learned an odd fact about the way we use this particular English word.

My thought is: the last time might be the unique one and it does exist objectively. No matter when it is just the last time.

Don't be fooled / deceived / misled / blinded by appearances / looks / attractiveness. means that "things might not look be the way they appear". It may also refer to something you did throughout the month, but you might still use "in" if you wanted to emphasise when you did it. Hi, Barque, does "for" work fine in the 2 sentences: a.
