Mukaishima Island (向島, Mukaishima) is the northernmost island in the Geiyo Islands chain accommodating Nishiseto Expressway connecting Honshu and Shikoku islands. Its coasts are washed by Seto Inland Sea. The island's highest peak is Takamiyama (高見山) 283.2 m (929 ft) high.

A more challenging climb through the center of the Mukaishima connects the north coast with the sleepy port community of Tachibana in south. Along the way, visit the orchid cultivation center and make a detour up to the peak of Mount Takami, which offers commanding views over Mukaishima and beyond.
Mukaishima along the Blue Line. From Onomichi, the Shimanami Blue Line runs for approximately 9 km across the north of Mukaishima Island before turning south to the Tachibana Coast and the Innoshima Bridge.
