Feb 4, 2019 · The stuff in night nurse that knocks you out is promethazine - I had it during pregnancy for nausea and it really helped me sleep and you can buy it as a sleep aid over the counter. Jul 19, 2023 · There is nothing as good as day and night nurse but boots own decongestant tablets are the same as the decongestant in day nurse. I can't believe they've taken them off the shelves 😟. I bought the Aldi own-brand last week. Can't comment on effectiveness as I couldn't actually use it due to high blood pressure.
Oct 11, 2021 · I took night nurse each night when I had covid but it ended up giving me heart palpitations. The gp told me to stop taking them and then they went . Was a bit worried as didn’t know what was causing them. Dec 19, 2021 · Last night I took Night Nurse capsules, for the first time in approx 6 years (basically since I got pregnant with my eldest as I have either been pregnant or breastfeeding since). I still feel rough as a badger's arse tonight. WIBU to take Night Nurse again tonight?
Feb 2, 2017 · Honestly, night nurse does give you a good night sleep but it makes me really drowsy the following day and spaced out. I also struggle to get up in the morning after taking it. If I were in your shoes I probably wouldn't take it. Take paracetamol and ibuprofen. Good luck with your wedding.
Jan 5, 2009 · i took night nurse and it definately knocks you out, i was out after about 15 minutes, slept all night, but you can feel very groggy next morning , takes about 2 hours to ware off after you wake up, pretty strong alright

Oct 2, 2010 · Lougle · 02/10/2010 22:02. It contains 18% alcohol by volume. So each 20ml dose contains 3.6ml of alcohol. The trouble is, each 20ml dose also contains 1000mg paracetamol. So for someone with a drinking habit, a (160ml) bottle of Night Nurse would give them 28.8mls of pure alcohol, but would also give them the equivalent of 16 paracetamol tablets.
