Desmond Tan is a member of the People's Action Party and the Deputy Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress. He was a Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office and the Minister of State for Home Affairs and Sustainability and the Environment before joining the labour movement in 2022.
