Nov 22, 2018 · But Revolut thieves take more money than you see in their confirmation screen. I saw £14000 in total the confirmation and in my bank account the total withdrawal was £14180. And apparently there is nothing you can do. If you had over your card details to thieves yourself, it is your responsibility when they help themselves.

I'll be going to Italy and then USA in a few weeks , so I'm thinking of getting a Revolut card to give me the best travel exchange rates. I've looked into it, but still not sure exactly how it works. - Can I use it as a credit/debit card for local transactions?

As others have said, Revolut has no FSCS protection, so if you have money in the account and it goes bust, you might lose it all. I used to use Revolut all the time on holiday, but their customer service is so bad I stopped using them.
Jul 29, 2022 · Revolut provide a debit card for multi-currency use with the app. Everything is explained within the app. Fully verify your account and study how to use it correctly, to avoid having to interact with their rather dismal customer services (unless you're prepared to pay monthly fees for an upgraded account).
May 21, 2021 · All good, no issues with salary for 1 year. Then this month I have submitted my hmrc self assessment and chose Revolut account for repayment. HMRC were really fast and money was transferred to Revolut account on 11/05. And that's when the nightmare begun. Revolut restricted my account, requesting for source of funds documents.

Oct 19, 2018 · BTW, with regards to your OP, I think I know where you are coming from. GIven the choice of Clarity vs revolut, clarity is far superior. Revolut is a prepay card afterall. For example, drawing cash from ATM while abroad. If you have standard revolut account, there is a limit of £200. Anything over, there's a 0.5% surcharge on the exchange rate.
May 14, 2020 · Virgin Money now charging a fee also for top-ups given Revolut recently changed the MCC code. Yet another reason to ditch Revolut. Another thing I noticed recently is that Revolut now only allow you to exchange £1000 per month fee-free on their free "Standard" plan. This used to be £5000.

Sep 1, 2016 · Revolut is recognised by ATMs and payment systems as a UK issued card and assumed to be GBP denominated, so 'conversion' is often offered. There's obviously not much Revolut can do about this, I would say that Ryanair are at fault if they offered conversion and the choice to decline it, then negated the choice of declining that you made.
