- John A. Brentwood, UK 412 contributions. Trip with local U3A Interest Group. An excellent visit with knowledgeable guides and a fascinating structure. Add to that the archaeological area and the garden, it was a great visit enjoyed by all.

Upminster Windmill was built for James Nokes, a local farmer, in 1803. It is a Grade II* listed building and in terms of quality, completeness and significance it is widely considered to be amongst the very best remaining English smock mills.
