Sep 25, 2007 · I understand "the dawn is rising", but I have never heard it said that way. At dawn, the sun rises and daylight breaks. At dusk, the sun sets and night falls. I would omit "the" from the second sentence. More ways to say it: "A new day is dawning." "Daylight is breaking: a new day." "The curtain is rising on a new day."

Originally, Meyer wanted to title the book Forever Dawn, but she thought the name was very "cheesy". Wanting to add a "sense of disaster" to the title to match the novel's mood, she called it Breaking Dawn.
