So, someone like John Ritter, who really was straight from all reports, yet was at least as fey as Peter Sarsgaard, fits the OP's description perfectly.

She wasn’t always the annoying munchkin that she started out to be begging for the captains lab and pretending to go to school on a ship where she wasn’t paid much attention to other than to be used as slave labor. Ace was the ships photographer and was hot as hell.

May 10, 2017 · I liked Jefferson and felt he was a good addition when Steve left, even though I loved the Steve character and most of my favorite episodes were during the Steve Years. Ted had good chemistry with ed O'Neil and his banter with Marcy was funny. He was a much different character than Steve which in turned helped the Marcy character evolve.
