Jan 24, 2017 · Anna Pasternak, the great-niece of Boris Pasternak, has written in her nonfiction book LARA the account of what she calls “the untold love story that inspired DOCTOR ZHIVAGO.” Pasternak’s model for the enchanted character of Lara was Olga Ivinskaya, whom he met in October, 1946 and had a romantic relationship with until his death in 1960 at the age of seventy.
